AMSTI Math Coaches
Kimberly George
My name is Kimberly George, and this is my first year as a Building-Based Instructional Math Coach at Lincoln Elementary School. I grew up in Trussville, Alabama, and I am a Hewitt-Trussville Alumni. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and just received my Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership from The University of West Alabama in May of 2024. In 2015, I moved to Pell City, Alabama, and began my teaching career at Lincoln Elementary School. In my first year, I taught 2nd grade before moving to 5th grade, where I primarily taught math and science for 8 years.
My husband’s name is Matthew George, and he is a Fire-Medic at Pell City Fire Department and Riverside Fire Department. We have a beautiful baby girl, Sadie, who is three years old. She brings so much joy into our lives and keeps us on our toes! Our life motto is “You’ll never regret making too many memories!”; therefore, our favorite thing to do is travel together as a family. We also enjoy playing golf together and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
As an instructional leader in the math coach position, I hope to lead teachers to have the knowledge and confidence to guide students in having a deep and rich understanding of mathematics, prioritizing math, and seeing how it applies to the real world and their futures.
