Lincoln Elementary School is located in the small rural town of Lincoln, Alabama directly off Interstate 20 between Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia. The population of Lincoln has grown over the last ten years from approximately 3,000 to 6,000. This is due to the opening of the Honda Plant and related businesses. Due to the increase in population, Lincoln Elementary broke ground for a new school in August 1999 and in August 2001 the doors opened to an exciting "theme" school reflecting the community in which we live. Situated approximately three miles from the Talladega Super Speedway, racing is very evident in our schools décor.
Lincoln Elementary has an enrollment of 697 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. The ethnic personality of the student population consists of 72% Caucasian, 22% African-American heritage and less than 6% other ethnic personalities.
